The renovation / internal move of Cray-Cyber
The renovation of the Cray-Cyber rooms took place from March 1st till March 9th (one whole week and an additional weekend).
In this time we achived almost all of our goals, including but not limited to:
- Painting all walls and roofs, cleaning all lamps
- Moving the Cyber 960 into the left room, consolidating all Cybers in one room
- Installing the raised floor in the right room (not finished completely)
This was enough to keep a whole crew busy for more than one week. Additionally to the core team (John, Alexander, Freddy), there were some helpers (many thanks to them!):
- Chris Wunder
- Hans Franke
- Marco Lorig
- Marcus Schwarz
- Ulf Rudolf
- Wico Meerwaldt
- Wolfgang Stief
They all put great effort in making those rooms look like a museum.
Additional 5 weekends were required to complete the installation of raised floor in the right room and to install linoleum-floor on the non-raised-floor-parts.
